Why buy a real Made in Italy product from a small artisan?
The great brands that produce items at an industrial scale now maintain very little of that poetry, uniqueness, and sophistication that characterizes a true artisan product.
A “fashionable” décolleté or shoe is produced in tens of thousands of pieces. They are all the same, all part of a series, with the sole purpose of maximizing the profit.
Production is often subcontracted out to external suppliers, some of which even lie outside of Italy.
Thanks to purchasing power and large orders, they impose prices on suppliers to keep them in check. There is almost no bargaining between the brand and the supplier.
A shoe that you can buy for 500 euros has cost, between raw materials and the cost of processing, a maximum of 100 euros.
“Okay, but I’m buying a symbol,” you say. That’s true. But you are also paying exclusively for an image. Obviously, it’s up to you to determine the final value of any item.
A true artisan product like the ones we offer in our boutique has a completely different value. They are made with care and manic attention to ensure they are of the highest quality.
These are unique pieces made with passion by artisans who have been doing this job for generations.
Above all, thanks to the fact that you can buy them directly from the producers, they offer incredible value for your money.
If you were to visit Italy, you could also find such products in some shops in the most prestigious Italian cities, but be prepared to pay at least twice as much.
But don’t say it too loudly… if everyone who loves Made in Italy were to buy only artisanal products, there wouldn’t be enough artisans in the whole peninsula to keep up with demand.
